For a horse to achieve self-carriage, it must not be hindered by the saddle or the rider. While we aim for our own balance and independent aids, our horses must also be able to move freely on their own.
Self-carriage also starts with our horses care, nutrition, body work, making sure that they are feeling their best physically and mentally.
